Our mission is to advocate and secure the protection and stewardship of the Chattahoochee River, its tributaries and watershed, in order to restore and preserve their ecological health for the people, fish and wildlife that depend on the River system.
Sustainable Atlanta is focused on a 50-year vision for water, concentrating on key steps within the next three years. The Sustainable Atlanta Water Task Force is committed to leading by example and driving change with respect to how water usage is optimized. A comprehensive approach is necessary, one focused both on supply (infrastructure) and demand (use and efficiency).
This should happen not just within the city limits but across the metro area and throughout the state by exploring innovative approaches like pushing the limits on water incentives, investing in communities of modest means and reinvesting water-system savings into more conservation efforts.
