In October 2009, Sustainable Atlanta launched its Energy Task Force to drive Atlanta’s progress towards a sustainable energy future. Specifically, the Task Force will encourage the Reed Administration to draft an energy agenda for the city of Atlanta, and will provide the administration with a set of policy and program recommendations along with a list of relevant community resources available to support the administration in the achievement of this agenda.The workgroup has collaborated with the City of Atlanta’s Office of Sustainability to support their ongoing efforts and to expand the scope of their influence. These efforts will catalyze Atlanta’s efforts to meet its commitment to the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement and will improve the quality of life for all those who live, work, and play in Atlanta.
